"My father passed without a will and I had no idea where to begin. The consultation with Moradok Law was the first time I understood what was actually required of me as the eldest son. They took their time, explained the order of heirs under Thai law, and gave me a written summary I could refer back to. The probate process took four months, which was within the range they had described. I found their communication throughout to be reliable — no surprises."

"Handling an estate in a country where I did not live, in a legal system I was unfamiliar with, was daunting. Moradok Law communicated in English throughout, explained the Thai-specific requirements clearly, and managed the process competently. What I valued most was that they told me early on what was feasible regarding the land asset, rather than letting me develop unrealistic expectations."

"I came to them after a disagreement with my sibling over our mother's estate. The assessment at the consultation was frank — they told me my position had strengths but also some uncertainty. That honesty was more useful than I expected. The matter resolved through negotiation before reaching court, which they had said was possible from the start. I would have preferred slightly faster responses by email at times, but the legal work itself was thorough."

"I wanted to understand whether my Thai will was valid and what would happen to my property here if I died. The consultation answered every question I had. The written summary was clear and included recommendations I had not thought to ask about. It cost ฿4,700 and was worth considerably more in terms of clarity and peace of mind."
April 2025 · Will & Estate Consultation

"My husband and I both needed wills, and we also had questions about what would happen to our children if we died before they reached adulthood. Siriporn handled everything with great care. She explained the concept of a guardian appointment under Thai law, which we had not known was possible. The consultation ran longer than the scheduled time, but she did not rush us. Very professional and genuinely kind."

"Navigating a Thai estate as a foreign national with an ex-wife also making claims was not straightforward. Moradok Law kept me informed throughout, explained each step before it happened, and gave realistic expectations about timeline and likely outcome. The dispute was eventually settled without going to a final hearing, which saved time and cost. Good, steady work."

Administering an Estate with Foreign Heirs
The Situation
A Thai national passed away with a Bangkok condominium, a provincial land plot, and bank accounts. Three children were named heirs: two resident in Thailand, one living in Germany. No will had been made. The family needed to apply for court-appointed administration and distribute the estate according to the statutory order.
What We Did
We explained to the family what intestate succession meant for each heir. We prepared and filed the court application, liaised with the Land Department regarding the provincial plot, and coordinated with the bank and condominium management. We kept the German-resident heir updated by email in English at each stage and made clear what authorisations were needed from abroad.
The Outcome
The matter completed in five months. All assets were transferred to the three heirs in equal shares as required by law. The German-resident heir was able to complete the process without travelling to Thailand. The family reported that the process, while not straightforward, had been manageable and clear throughout.
"We did not know it was possible to handle this from abroad. Moradok explained each step and told us exactly what we needed to send."
Disputed Will — Negotiated Resolution
The Situation
A client's parent had made a will shortly before death that significantly altered the distribution from a previous version. One sibling had been present when the will was made and received a substantially larger share. The remaining siblings believed the circumstances warranted legal examination.
What We Did
We assessed the will and the surrounding circumstances, advising the client honestly that while there were questions worth raising, the strength of any challenge was uncertain. We prepared a formal letter to the other party's representative and entered into negotiation. Throughout, we maintained a respectful tone — both because the relationships were family relationships, and because aggressive posturing rarely improves these outcomes.
The Outcome
After approximately three months of negotiation, the siblings reached a written settlement that redistributed a portion of the estate more equitably. The matter did not proceed to court. The family relationships, while strained, were not further damaged by the process. The client described the outcome as fair rather than perfect, which was consistent with what we had advised from the outset.
"They told me from day one that a perfect outcome was unlikely. What we got was reasonable, and the process did not destroy what was left of the family relationship."
Expat Estate Planning — Clarity Before Action
The Situation
A long-term foreign resident with property and financial assets in Thailand, and a will made in their home country, wanted to understand whether their existing arrangements would work under Thai law. They were also considering whether a separate Thai will was needed or advisable.
What We Did
We reviewed the existing will and explained which provisions would and would not apply in Thailand, and under what circumstances. We outlined the options available — including maintaining the existing will with Thai-specific addenda — and the practical considerations for each. We did not recommend a specific path unprompted; instead, we gave the client enough information to decide with confidence.
The Outcome
The consultation was the standalone service. The client decided, based on the advice, to proceed with a Thailand-specific will for their Thai assets. They instructed us to prepare it. The total process from first consultation to completed Thai will took six weeks. The client described the experience as straightforward and the advice as genuinely useful rather than generic.
"I left the consultation with actual answers, not a list of things to think about. The written summary was clear and I referred back to it several times."
